Bowling Green is known for its high hills, historic beauty and unique charm. We are also a community that cares about each citizen’s overall health and wellness. Energize Bowling Green, is a community initiative designed to encourage you to become actively engaged in physical fitness.
Our goal is simple:
To get people in the community to become physically active and record your results.
Energize Bowling Green’s focus will be on the number of minutes dedicated to exercise, with 1 million minutes being the initial goal.
“It doesn’t matter whether you are walking, whether you are riding your bike or running, we want you to become active,” states Mayor Elaine Walker.
Registered participants will be able to track their progress toward meeting fitness goals, receive e-mail updates on upcoming events and learn about incentives for eating healthy foods.
It will be important for businesses and schools to encourage people to register and track their progress online. Join these community partners who are investing their efforts into the campaign. Energize Bowling Green program is a joint initiative between the City of Bowling Green and several others in the community including Barren River District Health Department, The Medical Center, Greenview Regional Hospital, local school districts and Western Kentucky University’s College of Health and Human Services, Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, Bowling Green Parks and Recreation.
"We want every single fitness center, every single restaurant, every single health entity and all the schools to be a part of this program,” adds Mayor Walker.
Be a part of reaching Bowling Green’s 1 million minutes for a healthier community.
Get ENERGIZED for LIFE by becoming actively involved in Energize Bowling Green…the clock is ticking!
